Hydro Grit King® Protects Tavistock Works From Grit And Sand
As part of the programme to improve the UK’s water quality to the Environment Agency’s standards, South West Water Services Ltd have invested in a major upgrade to its wastewater treatment works on the outskirts of Tavistock, in the Tavy river valley. To provide additional protection for the inlet works from grit and sand carried in inflowing primary sewage, South West Water have installed Hydro’s Grit King® Separator and Hydro Grit-Cleanse™ Classifier.
The 2.3 metre diameter Hydro Grit King® Separator has been installed as a stand-alone unit in 304 grade stainless steel with a peak flow rate of 140 l/s. The Grit King® Separator will remove 95% of grits down to 200 microns at peak design flow. |
